Back from the land of Vintage Clothes

Wow, I'm so behind in blogging! I did put a ton of new vintage clothing, swimsuits, etc on my website though! If you would like more info on any of the items, just click on my link near the top left of the blog. Here are a few of the pics. There's a 1950's sun suit, a 1920's dress, a black 1950's swimsuit with red buttons, a 1960's dress with pink flowers, and a pink 50's party dress.

Besides that, I've been hitting up a lot of antique malls, which is probably one of my favorite things in the world to do! What can I say, I love old stuff. Oh, and I also picked up a depression glass powder container with a little deer figure on top. It's one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

New Vintage Stuff!

I've collected some great vintage accessories over the last week! My favorite is my 1940's shoes! They're black suede wedge platforms, and they're in perfect condition. I can't wait to wear them out! Next is my cute little lucite purse! It's a clear clutch purse, with lots of rhinestones decorating the front of it. So pretty. Lastly, an antique galalith bracelet. It's so beautiful! Now I need some new vintage clothes to go with my latest purchases! I've bid on so much clothing on Ebay lately, but I keep getting outbid in the last couple seconds! I think I may just have to hit up the local vintage stores this weekend :)

1950's Vintage Gloves

I got some great new vintage gloves this week! They're black and about medium length, and should look perfect with the grey 50's jacket my husband bought me! Does anyone else wear gloves? I try to as often as possible, but half the time I forget to wear them!

Vintage in Vegas!

I love coming home from a vacation with more vintage clothes then I packed! Viva Las Vegas was so much fun, and I picked up some great stuff! Included in my purchases were a black 1950's swimsuit with red buttons, a striped 50's bikini and an adorable 50's summer top! I will try to post some pics asap! I also came home to a beautiful lucite purse and 50's prom gown I had ordered off Ebay. Vintage in the mail is the best! Above is a photo of Betty Grable in Las Vegas in 1954. She's so cute!

More Vintage Goodies

I've been having lots of luck lately! Finding more and more vintage clothes all the time. Hopefully it keeps up. First I found a glamorous 1960's coat with a mink collar. It's in perfect condition too! Next I found a gorgeous 60's cocktail dress. It's a golden yellow color with chiffon bodice and sleeves. So pretty. Lastly, my first 1930's bathing suit! Most of my swimsuits are from the 50's, so this my new favorite.

Vintage Starlet Style

Is it just me or do Ann Sheridan and Rita Hayworth share a slight resemblance? As well as some gorgeous vintage clothing! I love Ritas 2 piece swimsuit on the last photo!

Recent Vintage Finds!

I got a bunch of new, or should I say "old" vintage items. Some I will keep, and rest shall go onto my website. I got a 1960's purse and 1960's swimsuit! Luckily the bathing suit fits me, so I am definitely keeping it! The vintage purse is in mint condition, made from vinyl and has a gorgeous lucite frame. I also found the type of platform 1940's shoes that I've been looking for! Unfortunately they're too narrow for my feet, so I'm not gonna keep them, but they're so amazing. They're such a piece of history, and so unique! Made during WWII, they even have a stamp on the bottom that reads "VICTORY". I just love the detail of the little houses carved out of the heels. I swear I'm gonna find some that fit me one day!

Vintage Clothing Pics!

From my trip to Hawaii! The first is on my wedding day, wearing my pink satin 1930's dress! I paired it with some vintage satin shoes. The middle picture is in front of the Royal Hawaiian hotel. I'm wearing my green summery 1960's dress, and holding my 1940's purse. Lastly is my sunbathing photo featuring my prized halter neck 1950's bathing suit! I tried to cover all my favorite decades. Don't you love the vintage surfer girl photo? So cute. I actually did try surfing in Hawaii, but my hair didn't look as good as hers! I guess wipe outs aren't good for fancy hair-dos!

Catching up with my Vintage

Well, I'm back from my wedding in Hawaii and I will post pics soon! It was so beautiful, and I was able to buy up a bunch of tiki items to add to my retro pad! There was this huge hula girl lamp I wanted, but there was no way it would have fit into our suitcase....although I may have been able to buy her a seat on the plane!

I guess it's back to work now for me, and I've already found a ton of wonderful vintage clothing! Some of it will be going up on my website, and some will be staying in my closet! There's some cute 1950's shoes, a beautiful white 1930's dress and a gorgeous 1920's purse! I've posted pics, so enjoy checking them out!

One More Day!

I'm leaving for Hawaii tomorrow to get married! So I won't be posting until I arrive back. Wish me luck! So far, everything I'm bringing to wear is vintage clothing! The only thing I'm having a hard time with is my hair. Usually when there's a special event I get my very talented hair stylist to give me finger waves or some other beautiful vintage style. But I'll be away from home and my own with my hair :(
Oh well, like I said, wish me luck! I'll try my best.

My New Vintage Shoes!

Check out these beauties! 1940's strappy black suede wedges with cute flower details. I've been trying to find some wedge 1940's shoes forever! The insides are a little worn, but the suede is perfect. I also got the original box and receipt! :)

Vintage Dress Finds!

I got a bunch of great vintage dresses over the past couple weeks. Not all of them fit me just right, so they're going up on my website. Here are some of the photos! I think my favorite is the red 1950's dress, but I also love the blue 1960's dress and the 60's babydoll nightie. So cute.

Guess Who? Vintage Starlet Photos

Can you name all these vintage starlets? I had to look twice as some of them have a different hair color or are just really young!
Ok, so here are the answers: Starting from the top is the very young Barbara Stanwyck, then we have a brunette Carole Lombard, next is Rita Hayworth in her teenage brunette days, and lastly is the young Lana Turner.

My New Vintage Purses

I just got 2 new vintage handbags on Ebay! I think they're both quite beautiful! The first one is a silver beaded 1930's purse that I may use on my wedding day. It's so pretty, I think it will suit the occasion. The second one is a 1940's purse with a rhinestone clasp, and it comes with a matching little coin bag. So cute!

Vintage Wedding Dress Inspiration

Wow, I'm so behind in my blogging! I will get back on track eventually. There's been so much to deal with lately! Anyways, I've decided to go with 1930's for my wedding gown. For fun I thought I would do some research and see what my favorite vintage ladies wore on their big days. Which is your favorite look? From the top we have Jean Harlow and Paul Bern in 1932. Ginger Rogers and Lew Ayers in 1934. Betty Grable and Harry James in 1943. Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra in 1951. Lana Turner and Bob Topping in 1948. My favorite dress would have to be Lanas, but you can't beat pin up girl Betty Grables hair with that huge flower. Love it.
